Pre-Cast Concrete
Similar in concept to Tilt-up, Pre-cast panel construction provides an even more efficient and effective wall construction process, offering considerable benefits relating to the quality of the product, project cost and scheduling, and even site logistics.
Whilst still considered a newer form of construction, Pre-Cast has steadily become a preferred option for many new projects.
We are continuously looking for new and creative ways to push what can be achieved with pre-cast from both an architectural and structural standpoint . Once lifted and in-place, a pre-cast panel can provide an insulated concrete structure with paint ready and durable, inside and outside faces.
Pre-cast concrete panels offer an all-in-one solution providing a solid and secure, insulated wall that is paint ready on the inside and outside faces. By forming and pouring in an enclosed production plant, weather variables are eliminated from impacting the pour schedule. They eliminate the need for the slab to be in place before starting panel construction, offering both schedule flexibility or allowing for sloped slab or even for the slab to be poured after the panels are standing.
The panels are formed and poured on smooth polished steel tables ensuring a consistent exterior finish. Once poured, they are cured overnight then picked and stored the next morning to allow the next panels to follow quickly. Pouring the panels off site allows for some or even all of the panels to be complete and ready for installation once the footings are poured on site.
Pre-cast panels also provide the potential for increased usable floor area as the composite panel construction often allows for a thinner (lighter and cheaper) wall thickness. Inside a pre-cast building, the bulk of the panel to panel connections are hidden at the joints and with the panels being top lifted into place, there are no visible lift inserts on the interior face leaving the inside walls looking almost as clean as the outer face.
Since building our Pre-cast plant using pre-cast methods and technology on site in 2019 and building on our 20 plus years of tilt-up experience we have since supplied and installed numerous pre-cast projects in southwest British Columbia with more panels on the tables and out the door every day.
